Learning to write a recount as a poem

Did you ever...?
by Gemma

Did you ever…

go to the zoo?

monkeys swinging

animals eating

people laughing

Did you ever imagine
how long an elephant's trunk could be?
trunk drinking
trunk eating
lots of echoing

Precious moments having fun
Awesome memories
spending time with family
I loved it.

My reflection:
I think  I’ve done a pretty good job because I followed the formula but I made a mistake when I was doing the second verse because I wrote about another experience. But I fixed it up and made the same verse of the story.  Next time I will make it the same verse about the same topic.

I liked writing a recount in a poem. It’s different from writing a recount with sentences.

You certainly persevered, Gemma. It's fine to do a second draft and keep the model in mind because it helps keep you on track. That is how we learn.
